On April 14, the day of BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Following the “Sankalp Patra’s” unveiling, the Prime Minister declared that it will support India’s roadmap for “Viksit Bharat,” or developed India, and empower the nation’s youth, women, the impoverished, and farmers.
The manifesto, which uses the slogan “Modi Ki Guarantee 2024,” calls for including all Indians over 70 in the Ayushman Bharat program, which offers free medical care up to ₹5 lakh. Additionally, the party has pledged to include transgender people in the health plan.
Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Ministers, and BJP President JP Nadda were present at the manifesto releasing occasion held at the BJP headquarters in the national capital, apart from Prime Minister Modi.
“The biggest concern of the elderlies is that how will they afford treatment of their ailments. This concern is even more serious for the middle class. BJP has now taken the ‘sankalp’ that every individual above 75 years of age will be brought within the purview of Ayushman Bharat Yojana,” the Prime Minister said.
In addition, the BJP has pledged to implement the Uniform Civil Code, or UCC, should it continue to hold central authority. Perhaps the one significant pledge from the party’s previous manifestos that it hasn’t yet kept is the UCC.
The manifesto also included plans for India’s 2036 Olympics bid, the National Education Policy, “One Nation One Election,” and legislation against paper leaks. Additionally, it guarantees impoverished individuals free “ration, water, gas connection, and electricity” for the following five years.
Additionally, the BJP has pledged to begin developing 6-G internet coverage. The BJP has pledged to build an additional 3 crore residences for the impoverished, provide free food to 80 crore people for the next five years, and install piped household gas connections, among other things.
The BJP has pledged to raise the ₹10 Lakh to ₹20 Lakh mudra loan limit.
Additionally, the manifesto pledges to eliminate impoverished households’ electrical bills. “We’ll now focus on generating income from power and cutting crores of families’ electricity bills to nothing. The PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme has been put into effect,” the prime minister declared.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was the leader of the BJP’s 27-member manifesto committee. The panel convened twice in order to discuss the manifesto.
Three beneficiaries of central government projects received copies of the manifesto from Prime Minister Modi shortly after its launch.
